Swansea visit

Swansea is a city in redevelopment, there are lots of elements being put in place and constructed to aid in this development at the time I visited Swansea new appartment buildings were being constructed and large areas along the cities coastline were being cleared of the old and readied for the new redevelopment of space.

Sail bridge in Swansea is hailed as a landmark for the city greeting people as somewhat of a gateway to the new redeveloped Swansea it took 2 years to build from 2004-2006 and cost £3million, funded by the Welsh Assembly.
The bridge is a very prominant feature in Swansea, very modern and slick creating an image of what could be in the city in some years. The only thing which lets the bridge down is where it sits at present in the middle of two development sites.

In the heart of Swansea this park has been landscaped with thought about what used to exist in the space, the history, which was mainly the wheels of industry feeding onto the docks. The photos show railway lines are simulated by thin lines of rock cutting through the lawns. This pattern is also found in the paving patterns of the park using coloured bricks to emulate a railway.
Even in this park there was signs of development work taking place around further signalling that Swansea in up and coming development rather than the finished article.

At present Swansea is a city in redevelopment and has some elements which stand out, im sure that in 5 to 10 years it will have far more good than bad if the restructuring continues at present rates and I hope the uses of the open spaces in the city are integral to this development.
